In this post we will go in detail to know how to know EPF balance
Before accessing EPF account, we need to get our UAN from our employer. Generally UAN number will be given in salary slips. The UAN is a 12-digit unique number that has been given to every PF member.
To activate and to check your PF balance, follow below steps:
1: Open any browser and go to below link:
https://www.epfindia.gov.in/site_en/index.php
2: Click ‘Our Services’ tab from top left corner of the web page and click on For Employees option.
3: ‘For Employees’ page will be displayed. Click on ‘Member UAN/Online Service (OS/OTCP)
option’ under Services Tab show at left bottom of web page
4: Click on UAN radio button and fill your UAN number, Name (as registered), Date of Birth &
Registered Mobile number.
Enter captcha and click ‘Get Authorization Pin’ button. You will receive an OTP on your mobile.
In the next page click on ‘I Agree’ under 'Disclaimer' checkbox and enter OTP which you received
on your mobile.
Then click on ‘Validate OTP and Activate UAN’
Once UAN is activated, you will receive password on your register mobile to access your UAN
account.
5: Once you receive your password, You can log in to check your EPF account details.
For this log on to:
https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface

Enter your UAN number and password which you received on your mobile and fill the captcha then
click ‘Sign in’ button.
Once you log in you can check your profile, modify basic details, update KYC documents, change
password and also one can apply for claim.
For accessing passbook or for knowing PF balance, you need to visit below link with same
credentials:
https://passbook.epfindia.gov.in/MemberPassBook/Login.jsp
As the Important message from login page says ,to access member passbook ,it will take up to 6
hours after activation of UAN.
Enter your same User Name and Password which you used to login above, enter captcha and click
Login Button.
New page will open as shown below:
Click on the button under ‘Select Member ID to View PassBook’ option. On the right hand side you
can view or download member passbook in which you can know your PF balance.
